Tavistock Gazette

The Tavistock Clinic house journal 1979-1996

About the journal

The Tavistock and Portman library now hosts an online archive of all issues of The Tavistock Gazette published between 1979 and 1996. As the in-house journal for the clinic, it published articles on theory and practice from influential thinkers at the time, plus interviews, recipes and satire.

How to read the Gazette

To access the online archive, you’ll need to be a staff member or student with the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust with an active Shibboleth account. Issues can only be viewed on screen and we’re unable to offer any part of the Gazette as a download. Print copies of the Gazette are also held in the Tavistock Centre library archive.

You can browse the archive by issue and there’s a search function. Please note: the search function on the archive is limited to locating and previewing the passages of text where your search terms appear, but you’ll need to manually scroll through the issue of the Gazette to find the text in the publication.

For a better viewing experience we recommend you upgrade your browser.
