GIRES The Gender Identity Research and Education Society is dedicated to improving the lives of trans and gender non-conforming people, including those who are non-binary and non-gender. Apart from general information, this site hosts e-learning resources (including modules for GPs and employers) and a support groups’ directory.
The UK Government website provides guidance on:
- good practice in providing services to transgender customers
- recruiting transgender staff
- management of transgender offenders
- passport application process for transgender and transsexual people
- data management – summary of Department for Work & Pensions’ information retention policy in respect of transgender customers
- transgender issues in asylum claims
ILGA – the International Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Intersex Association, is the world federation of national and local organisations dedicated to achieving equal rights for lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and intersex (LGBTI) people.
