As well as being busy with getting our users the information and material they need, Library staff are involved in activities outside the Trust. Here are some of the things we’ve been up to…
Graphic Medicine conference presentation
Our Library Assistant, Anthony, presented a paper at the Graphic Medicine 2016 conference at the University of Dundee in July. He focussed on the findings of his research on the use of comics at the Trust and you can view his presentation here.
Our Information Skills Trainer, Aurélie, presentated a paper at LILAC 2016 (Libriarians Information Literacy Annual Conference). She spoke about giving training in the use of electronic resources to students with computer anxiety. Aurélie’s has made the slides from her presentation available online.
‘Graphic Medicine’ research article
The Comics Grid journal has published an article co-written by our Library Assistant, Anthony. The article looks at how the ways comics are produced might have implications for their use as information resources. You can download from it our Staff Publications Open Access repository.
Pédagogies actives en bibliothèque – Active Learning in Libraries
Aurelie gave a Paper at a Library Conference in July 2017 at the Bibliothèque universitaire des langues et civilisations in Paris. The paper focussed on Active Learning in Libraries and was very well received.
