New! Journal of Black Psychology
The library now subscribes to The Journal of Black Psychology. Founded and sponsored by the Association of Black Psychologists, the publication presents innovative research and theory from Black or Afrocentric perspectives.
Black British literature timeline
The British Library explores the history of Black writing in Britain. Includes works by writers living and working in Britain, as well as titles first published here and authored by people who were born in former British colonies.
Whiteness studies bibliography
Writer, poet and educator Tré Ventour has produced a bibliography for whiteness studies. The list includes books, articles and videos, with material grouped under various sub-sections such as histories, media and social class.
Black Psychoanalysts Speak
The 2014 film Black Psychoanalysts Speak by Basia Winograd is now available to stream as part of the library collection. The film provides a thought-provoking discussion about race, culture and class. Shibboleth login required.

A freely available collection from Springer Nature featuring content relevant to the Black Lives Matter movement. Includes ebooks on systemic racism and social inequality, plus podcasts from black women working in research.
Educating for Black Lives
Routledge has worked with authors to make a freely available range of material related to anti-racist education, covering research, practical applications and informal learning. Also includes a curated collection of additional resources.

Tribute to bell hooks
Author and activist bell hooks died in December 2020 so, in tribute to her work and influence, we’ve collected some of her talks and interviews in a bell hooks YouTube playlist. You’ll also find some of her videos in our Race playlist and Intersectionality playlist. Film on black LGBT identities
Awarding-winning short film Beyond ‘There’s Always A Black Issue Dear’ explores the particular influence of black LGBT culture on fashion, fine art, dance, music and language, giving voice to previously untold stories.
