ProQuest Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
The Tavistock and Portman Library is trialling a new Diversity, Equality and Inclusion ebook collection from ProQuest. The collection has more 18,000 ebooks that can be searched by keywords, author names, titles and more.
You can read the books online or get PDFs of chapters. Please do not use the ‘Download’ option as we’re not able to support that at the moment. The Read Online option will still allow you to access and save PDFs of chapters, but there’s a varying limit of pages per book for PDFs. Also, as this trial account is being used by everyone, you could find the PDF limit has been reached before you get to save a chapter. However, you’ll still be able to read the whole ebook online even if the PDF limit has been reached.
This trial version doesn’t use Shibboleth. We’ve messaged staff and students with the special username and password but please email firstname.lastname@example.org to get the login details if you didn’t receive them. The trial ends on 30th September and we’d be love to know what you think of the collection so please email us to let us know by then.
Tips to using the ProQuest DEI collection
How to access books
After logging in and searching, you can access a book from your results lists by clicking the book title or the book symbol. Avoid clicking the icon with the downward arrow, as we’re not currently supporting the Download option for reading.
Downloading chapters as PDFs
Make sure you have the book open in Read Online mode. Click on a chapter title to take you to its opening page. Click the PDF icon at the top of window. Your PDF will then download to your device.
